SIRC Participates in “Seatrade Maritime Logistics Middle East 2025” and Signs a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding with HORMUZ
The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC), a Public Investment Fund (PIF) portfolio company, participated—through its subsidiary, SAIL (Marine Environmental Services Company)—in the Seatrade Maritime Logistics Middle East 2025, one of the region’s premier maritime events. The conference and exhibition took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6 to 8 May 2025, bringing together senior officials and key decision-makers from the maritime transport and logistics sectors.
The SAIL pavilion attracted significant attention from government representatives, industry experts, and environmental specialists. Company representatives showcased SAIL’s advanced capabilities in oil-spill response and marine emergency management, highlighting innovative technologies and sustainable solutions that support marine ecosystem protection. The company also presented its leading environmental initiatives that enhance the resilience and sustainability of coastal and regional waters.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, SAIL signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HORMUZ, marking the beginning of a collaborative partnership to strengthen joint efforts in several critical areas that serve the marine environment and advance the Kingdom’s circular-economy objectives.
The MoU was signed by Eng. Ziad Al-Shiha, CEO of SIRC, and Mr. Suleiman Al-Hadhrami, CEO of HORMUZ. The agreement reflects the shared vision of both companies to enhance environmental sustainability through collaboration across key areas, including the development of marine operations and logistics services, such as bunkering and marine lubricants supply, representing a significant step toward improving the efficiency of marine-support operations.
The memorandum also includes cooperation in oil-spill and pollutant emergency response, rehabilitation of affected marine areas, and marine-waste management, in addition to providing environmental monitoring and data-analysis services to support operational decision-making with accurate and reliable insights. Furthermore, the MoU opens the door for future opportunities in the exchange and supply of biofuels and eco-friendly chemicals, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to promote clean-fuel adoption and emissions reduction.
HORMUZ, based in the Sultanate of Oman, is a leading regional provider of marine and logistics services, leveraging Oman’s strategic location along the Strait of Hormuz and a coastline stretching over 3,000 kilometers. The company offers integrated services covering marine infrastructure, dry-docking, transport solutions, and environmental services in line with the highest international standards—making it a strong partner in advancing marine sustainability across the region.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue developing future joint projects that serve mutual interests and strengthen the Kingdom’s capabilities in building a comprehensive and efficient marine environmental system.
